all bill could think about upon his arrival was his little brother. he’d been what was promised to him — the utterance of a single name, one that he hadn’t known or understood at the time. georgie had brought him to woodshore. the one person he wanted to see again more than anyone, who had been so terribly, so cruelly ripped away at such a young age. the young boy who he had spent so long searching for, because he never lost hope. he would never, could never, give up on george denbrough.
his blood ran cold as he froze in his tracks, turning in the direction of the voice. like a direct blow to the gut, all the air left his lungs. “ j-juh—g— … ” he could hear his heartbeat now, and before he could register what he was even doing, his feet were taking him towards it. towards him. “ georgie! i’m— i’m o-over here! ”
Hearing his brother’s voice instantly made him feel better. Bill was here and Georgie wasn’t alone. The boy ran towards where he heard his voice as fast as he could. A huge grin appears on his face when he spots him, “Billy!” He yells as he practically attacks his brother for a hug. Georgie wraps his good arm around him as tightly as he could.
Pulling back from the hug, Georgie felt the guilt sink in. “I-I lost the boat, Billy. She was too fast and I-I..” Georgie looks down feeling awful about it. To a normal person, losing a paper boat wouldn’t be bad, but to Georgie it was. Hopefully, Bill wouldn’t be too mad at him. Surely what the clown said wasn’t true right? Bill wouldn’t kill him over losing the boat.
Of all things to happen today, Connor didn’t expect to hear his sisters voice calling his name. He had a thing for the park and the tall trees. He liked to sit under them and get high, yknow, the usual connor thing and it was a bonus on the days John would join him. Yet today, when he was on his way to the tree, joint in between his lips and lighter at the ready, he heard his name and he froze.
He turns slowly to the voice, lighter slipping into his pocket and his free hand grabbing the item out of between his lips and he spots her. “Zoe?”
Zoe hesitantly walks over to him. Her mind was racing. She knew this town was capable of strange things but she never thought she’d see her brother around. Alive, like nothing happened. She didn’t know what to say to him. Part of her wants to reach out and hug him, but she doesn’t know how well he’d react to that. “I-I..” her voice cracks as tears well up in her eyes, “I’m so sorry, Connor..”
“fall has actually began right now.. so that means halloween season, right?” he asked, a soft chuckle escaping his lips.. it might surprise people, but ben liked creepy stuff.. he didn’t get scared anymore, not after he got over his fears. “meaning kids will soon ring my doorbell for trick or treating.. i don’t know if i should be happy or if i should make sure i’m not home then.”
“Well, that would be a mean. You should pass out candy.” The boy replies. He loved Halloween. Dressing up and trick or treating with his brother is something he looked forward to every year.
tony looked down, then away, shaking his head. he’d had this conversation a million times and it never got easier, no matter how well he knew who he was talking to or not. “i know,” he said, stealing his expression under a cocky expression. “but that’s really nothing new if you look at my track record.”
“Sorry, that sounded rude. I didn’t mean for it to. Does Peter know you’re here?” She asks hopefully. Michelle knows how much Tony means to Peter. He would always talk about him and “The Stark Internship.” His death had a big impact on him and the rest of the world. “Wait, did you fake your death or is this some weird thing with the blip?”
